The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has provided a weather update for Friday, highlighting the impact of a shear line and the northeast monsoon (amihan) in various regions:

  1. Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Quezon: Expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line. There’s a possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
  2. Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, and Aurora: These areas will experience cloudy skies with light rains caused by the northeast monsoon, but there will be no significant impact.
  3. Metro Manila and the Rest of Luzon: Anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, with no significant impact.
  4. The Rest of the Country: Prepare for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. Be cautious of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Additionally, here are the wind speed forecasts and coastal conditions:

  • Eastern Sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas: Strong winds moving northeastward with rough coastal waters.
  • Rest of Luzon and Visayas: Moderate to strong winds moving northeastward, accompanied by moderate to rough coastal waters.
  • Mindanao: Expect light to moderate wind speeds moving northeastward, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Stay updated with local weather advisories and exercise caution in areas prone to flooding or landslides during adverse weather conditions.
