A carnapping suspect died, and police arrested two others in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat, following a botched motorcycle theft. According to police, the suspects tried to carnap a motorcycle from its owner, who escaped and ran home. Here are some details from the Facebook post of GMA Regional TV News.

Police Pursuit and Shootout

Following the failed carnapping attempt, police launched a hot pursuit operation. During the chase, one of the suspects, identified by the alias “Ari,” allegedly drew a gun and tried to fire at the police, prompting the operatives to shoot back. The police fatally wounded the suspect, and arrested his two accomplices, identified as “Lukman” and “Oman.”

During the arrest, police recovered a caliber .45 pistol, a homemade 12-gauge shotgun, and the suspects’ motorcycle. The operation demonstrated the police’s rapid response to criminal activities and their commitment to ensuring public safety.

Police Commendation

Brigadier General Percival Augustus Placer, Director of Police Regional Office-12, commended the operatives involved in the operation, praising their bravery and swift action. “To our men on the ground, keep in mind that your bravery and perseverance in running after criminals do not go unnoticed. Thus, continue to display excellence in the performance of all your duties,” Placer said.

The police investigate whether the arrested suspects have connections to other criminal activities in the region. Authorities are encouraging witnesses and anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
