A horrifying crime has shocked the community of Marilao, Bulacan, where a 71-year-old man was abducted, brutally beaten, and left for dead by eight armed suspects. Despite efforts to save him, Herminigildo Estonillo succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital. The swift response of authorities led to the arrest of six suspects, with two others still at large.

Details of the Incident

The tragic incident unfolded on the afternoon of June 21 at Kelsey Hills Subdivision, Barangay Muzon. Estonillo was forcibly taken by the suspects and subjected to a violent assault inside a black Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle. Despite his brave attempts to resist and escape, he was overpowered and severely injured.

Herminigildo Estonillo, a widower from Barangay Loma de Gato, Marilao, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical treatment. The local police swiftly launched a hot pursuit operation, leading to the apprehension of six suspects. However, two suspects, known only by aliases “Putot” and “Inday,” managed to evade capture.

Police authorities, under the direction of Bulacan Police Director PCol. Relly Arnedo, arrested Russell Foronda, Jimmy Hinugin, Jenny Chavez, Madel Adalla, Rowena Rimaldo, and Raquel Dela Cruz. During the operation, police recovered stolen jewelry valued at P320,000, P21,000 in cash, a caliber .38 revolver with four bullets, and an improvised handgun (sumpak) loaded with four 12-gauge bullets.

Legal Proceedings

The arrested suspects now face charges related to the abduction, robbery, and murder of Herminigildo Estonillo under Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and other relevant laws. The pursuit for justice continues as authorities intensify efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining fugitives.
