Details of the Incident

On Monday, Erwin Angeles and Richard Mendoza allegedly abducted a 19-year-old Chinese national after “Izzy,” a woman using a messaging app, lured him. The victim agreed to meet Izzy at a fast-food restaurant in Barangay Tuktukan, and from there, Izzy and accomplices took him to a house in Barangay Sta. Ana.

At the house, five men reportedly assaulted the victim, blindfolded him, and restrained him. The perpetrators then demanded a ransom of P5 million from the victim’s father. Following negotiations, the parties reduced the ransom to P1.1 million.

The perpetrators arranged the transaction at a mall in Bonifacio Global City, where they exchanged the ransom for the victim’s release. Subsequently, the perpetrators transported the victim to Angono, Rizal, where he promptly alerted the authorities.
