Residents, along with the Manito Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coastguard, and Manito Police, quickly sprang into action. Their rapid response ensured the rescue of all the students, promptly taking them to the Manito District Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the incident occurred during low tide, and the sea was calm, minimizing the risk to the victims.
