Act of Penitence Turns Violent: Man Assaulted Outside Church in Angeles City


An act of penitence took a harrowing turn when a man was assaulted in front of a church in Barangay Cayapa 2, Angeles City, Pampanga. Christian Ivan Pintoy, 24, endured punches and strikes with a wooden club from his cousins, marking a distressing chapter for the family. Assault and Aftermath

Following the assault, Pintoy experienced dizziness and weakness, prompting his family to rush him to the hospital. Maia Pintoy, the victim’s sister, described his condition, noting his pallor and eventual seizure en route to the hospital. Fortunately, medical examinations revealed no fractures or internal bleeding, providing a glimmer of relief amidst the ordeal.

One of the suspects surrendered to barangay and police authorities, facing charges of frustrated homicide. However, the motive behind the attack remains obscured, with Police Master Sergeant Arvie Mateo highlighting a potential personal or familial dispute as the catalyst. Despite the surrender of one suspect, the victim’s family implores the remaining culprit to likewise surrender to authorities.
