Suspicions of Intentional Arson

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) assessed the damage at P100,000 and raised strong suspicions of intentional arson. FInsp. Reynold Aguinaldo, the Municipal Fire Marshal of Sarrat BFP, pointed out compelling evidence suggesting deliberate action. “Malaki ang posibilidad na sinadya ito kasi ‘yung kurong-kurong, inilipat daw [ng] 10 meters [away] from parkingan, kaya may posibilidad, kasi nag-iba na ‘yung pwesto,” Aguinaldo stated, highlighting the significant change in the vehicle’s position prior to the fire.

As authorities work diligently to identify potential suspects involved in the arson, the community remains on edge. They are grappling with the unsettling crime that struck at the heart of a hardworking farmer’s livelihood.

Securing Belongings

In response to the alarming event, the BFP emphasized the importance of securing belongings for vehicle owners. “Sa mga may ari ng sasakyan, maigi na isecure ang mga ari-arian,” advised Aguinaldo. [Translation: “To vehicle owners, it is best to secure your belongings.”]
