In a tragic incident in Barangay Anislag, Daraga, Albay, a 19-year-old person with a disability (PWD) was found dead with multiple stab wounds by a creek. Daraga police reported that a 14-year-old boy, last seen with the victim, has admitted to committing the crime.

The initial investigation revealed that an argument between the victim and the boy escalated. Leading to the fatal stabbing with a pair of scissors. Following the incident, the juvenile has been turn over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for appropriate intervention.

Lt. Col. Edmundo Cerillo Jr., Chief of Police of Daraga MPS, described the situation as a reaction to a joke that tragically spiraled out of control. The incident underscores the complexities surrounding juvenile crimes. Also the need for effective intervention strategies to address the underlying issues that lead to such extreme actions.

This case highlights the importance of providing support and protection for vulnerable groups. Including those with disabilities, and the critical role of community and social services in managing and preventing youth-related crimes. The local authorities are expect to conduct a thorough investigation to understand the full context of the incident and ensure justice for the victim.
